Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Broad Branch Distillery in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  This release, their first from Broad Branch, is both their first Southern rye whiskey and their first HAZMAT Rye Whiskey.  It was made from 100% Prairie Rye and aged for 8 years in a 53 gallon char 4 barrel.  the nose is minty and grassy, with notes of clove and butterscotch.  The powerful palate has intense spicy oak notes, dark chocolate, and a very full mouthfeel.  A powerful and deep rye whiskey.
