If you like rich-matured Speyside whiskies with character and aren’t intimidated by a bit of “distillery personality” (i.e., the sulphur/malty under-tone), the Cadenhead’s Craigellachie-Glenlivet 18 YO is a strong choice. It balances the distillery’s heavier/more robust style with elegant sherry-wood maturation. On the other hand, if you prefer lighter, orchard-fruit Speysides, or minimal influence from sherry wood, you might want something more classic/straightforward.
