Chateau De Lacquy 2000 Vintage Armagnac
The oldest family owned estate producing Armagnac, has been distilling hand-crafted Armagnac since 1711 from vines planted on exceptional soil of light, tawny, marine sand with clay and shell sediments. Located in Grand-Bas-Armagnac, with an oceanic climate that is generally mild and humid. Growing baco, folle-blanche and colombard grapes. The Lacquy estate continues its tradition of excellence by overseeing every step of production.
The Armagnacs of Chateau de Lacquy are renowned for their elegance, finesse, roundness, length, and aromatic complexity. Each vintage released offers a unique complexity. Aged in French oak and free of any additives such as coloring agents, sugar, or caramel.
Aroma: very intense and rich, subtle aromas of wild flowers with a hint of lemongrass, gingery character, nuts notes.
Taste: complex and very expressive with crème brulée alongside a distinctive and elegant oakiness. Large array of aromas, pecan nuts, maple syrup, orange marmalade, dates and warm coriander seeds. Extremely mellow to the palate, plenty of oak still, but it sits well within the whole.
Finish: Lovely long finish.
