The Hearach First Fill Oloroso Cask Matured Scotch Whisky

The Hearach Oloroso is the second permanent expression from Isle of Harris’s single-malt range, released in September 2024. 

This whisky is matured entirely in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts — meaning the spirit spent its full cask aging in European oak casks previously used for Oloroso sherry (from the Andalusian bodega Bodega José y Miguel Martín). 

It is lightly peated (approx. 12–15 ppm), preserving a subtle smoky/coastal influence alongside the sherry-cask character. 

Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, with no added coloring.

It’s considered “island whisky,” distilled, matured and bottled on the actual island.
