- Nose: Expect rich aromas of dark chocolate, toffee, and dried fruits like raisins and prunes, intertwined with hints of oak, almonds, and the characteristic Springbank "funk" (which can present as notes of wet wool, machine oil, or maritime air).
- Palate: It is full-bodied and oily on the palate, with flavors of Christmas cake, figs, marzipan, Brazil nuts, and vanilla. Subtle peat smoke, spice (cinnamon, pepper), and an industrial note often appear, contributing to its complexity.
- Finish: The finish is typically long and warming, with lingering notes of dark chocolate, leather, tobacco, and a touch of oak and smoke.
