Pelacañas Llamarada is produced at Hacienda El Carmen in Jalisco, Mexico, using 100% fresh-pressed sugarcane juice. The rum is fermented with wild yeast and produced using both copper pot and column distillation before being matured in oak.

This particular Barrel Shoppe Exclusive Single Barrel spent 16 months in a French oak red wine barrel and was bottled at a robust 105 proof. The combination of fresh sugarcane, high proof and red-wine-seasoned French oak creates a compelling expression that stands apart from more traditional molasses-based rums.

With just 264 bottles produced from the barrel, Llamarada is a genuinely limited release for rum drinkers looking to explore something outside the usual Caribbean styles.
