Tears of Llorona is widely regarded as one of the world’s finest tequilas—a masterpiece created by Master Distiller Germán González. Crafted from 100% Blue Weber Agave grown slowly on the volcanic slopes of Mexico’s highlands, this extra añejo is the result of extraordinary patience and artistry.

After carefully harvesting and slow-roasting the agave piñas, the spirit is double-distilled in traditional copper pot stills. It is then aged for five years—two years longer than most extra añejos—in three distinct casks: Scotch, Sherry oak, and Brandy barrels. This triple-maturation imparts remarkable depth and nuance, marrying the bold character of agave with the elegance of old-world oak.

Each batch is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof), a precise balance chosen to showcase its layered complexity. During the long aging process, a high rate of “angel’s share” evaporation occurs, leaving behind an extraordinarily concentrated spirit—hence the name, Tears of Llorona.
